We recently connected with Diamond Spencer and have shared our conversation below.
Diamond , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think to truly be successful you have to care about what you do but also care about always being of service to others. When I was in college Thursday was the night to go out and you always wanted to wear something new or different when your in college you don’t have much money so I would shop for thrifted items as well as buy jewelry on clearance and then sell it for a “college price” or barter so that everyone could have something for the night time festivities. I didn’t have a lot of money but I knew I had style and loved to help others with fashion.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started my journey in the jewelry and accessories industry out of my love for vintage fashion and unique pieces. I wanted to provide women with beautiful and timeless pieces that make them feel confident and stylish. My brand focuses on curating a selection of jewelry and accessories that are not only trendy and fashionable but also high quality and affordable.
I believe in empowering women to express their personal style through accessories that make a statement. I want my clients to feel like they are getting a personalized shopping experience, where they can find pieces that truly speak to their individuality.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my passion for vintage fashion and my commitment to providing excellent customer service. I take pride in sourcing unique and one-of-a-kind pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.
I am most proud of the relationships I have built with my clients and the positive feedback I receive about the pieces I offer. I want potential clients to know that when they shop with me, they are not just buying jewelry or accessories, they are investing in pieces that will elevate their style and make them feel beautiful.
Overall, I am dedicated to helping women feel confident and stylish through my carefully curated selection of jewelry and accessories. I want my brand to be a go-to destination for anyone looking to add a touch of glamour to their wardrobe.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn to not care so much. Honestly it’s the killer of creativity , you should always care about your work but I use to get very wrapped up and what people thought about me or more so what I thought about myself. It ruined my brand consistency and my mental health and now I just don’t care about the outside noise only about what I create and who I’m creating for.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Absolutely! When I became a mom that was the biggest pivot of my life. I use to sell body care products for dry skin and eczema but fulfilling orders and taking care of my son and my mental health it was depleting me instead. So I had a talk with my husband and told him I didn’t wanna give up but I think I need to take some time and decide what my new world would look like with motherhood and business. It was the scariest thing I have ever done but it has been so worth it because I made the right choice to change the path of my business.
