Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diamond McCoy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Diamond, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
Yes, I’ve definitely been misunderstood, especially when giving advice to people I truly care about. Sometimes, my words come from a place of love, wisdom, and experience, but instead of seeing it as guidance, they take it personally. It’s frustrating because my intention is never to hurt—only to help.
What I’ve learned from these experiences is that not everyone is ready to receive certain truths, even when it’s for their own good. People hear things based on their emotions, not always on logic. So now, I try to be mindful of how I deliver my words while also understanding that I can’t control how others perceive them. My heart will always be in the right place, and I’ll continue to uplift those around me—whether they recognize it in the moment or not.
Diamond, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Diamond P, a powerhouse in the entertainment industry with a deep passion for media, film, radio, and talent management. My journey started with a love for storytelling—whether through acting, hosting, or managing talent—and has grown into a full-fledged career where I wear many hats, from radio personality to actress to entrepreneur.
I provide a wide range of services, including entertainment & talent management, content creation, speaking engagements, brand ambassadorships, and advocacy for causes close to my heart like breast cancer awareness and gun violence prevention. I also recently launched my signature body oil, “Da Experience by Diamond P,” bringing a luxurious, peach-scented touch to self-care.
What sets me apart is my unmatched resilience, authenticity, and ability to connect with people—whether it’s guiding talent, creating impactful content, or inspiring my audience. I don’t just work in entertainment; I build legacies, empower voices, and create opportunities.
Despite facing unimaginable hardships, including battling Stage 2 breast cancer and losing my son to gun violence, I continue to push forward, proving that strength and purpose outweigh pain. I never let adversity define me—I let it fuel me.
I want my supporters, clients, and followers to know that I am living proof of perseverance. My brand represents strength, faith, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. Whether I’m on screen, behind the mic, or mentoring the next generation, my goal is to inspire, uplift, and make an impact that lasts beyond my presence.
It’s a D.P Nation Situation—always and forever.
