Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diamond Griffith . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Diamond , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Wow! Diamond Charnea was only a name until my husband said it should be marketed as a brand due to how catchy it sounds. Well, I stepped out on faith and asked God to guide me on how I should develop the brand. I truly love fashion and believe it is a great way for people to express themselves and feel great internally. Since I was a little girl my mom has always encouraged me to take advantage of the things we love and gifts God gave us. I remember growing up and I always wanted to dress like my older brother and do all the things he did. One day my mom, sat me down and really made me wear dresses, girlie socks and the list goes own. I absolutely could not understand why she was doing such a thing. Now, I am truly grateful for that. This time last year, Diamond Charnea was going through a tough phase of rebranding because I didn’t know what exactly I saw my business as. Two years ago, Diamond Charnea was thought and now we are witnessing the brand unfold right in front of us. I started by just writing down the things I saw with my boutique, and today half of those things have already manifested. The journey hasn’t been easy and I am still learning how to grow my business. However, I truly believe, if I allow God to have full control we will see this business truly multiply.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Honestly, it has not been a smooth road but one that has truly been worth it. I have my days and moments where I would call my husband and nearly be in tears because of the frustration or work load we may have for the day. I’ve learned we may have great months and others not so great. But do you stop? Absolutely, not! Sometimes we may have to pivot, meaning what worked in one season may not work in the next.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Funding a business is hard because you have all these great ideas but doesn’t have all the resources to bring the vision to past immediately how you really want it. The beautiful part, starting a business is a process and it all comes together eventually. I did not take out a business loan, however I used my own personal funding and stepped out on faith. I allowed my 9-5 job to fund my business until it’s able to run on its own like a machine.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Sometimes we may have to pivot, meaning what worked in one season may not work in the next. Life is all about making changes. When it comes to business, at some point you experience so much that makes you question if you should stay in the maratjon Sometimes we may have to pivot, meaning what worked in one season may not work in the next. Marketing may have to be a bit different, we may have to change the scenery, or even invest in different products, and the list goes on. What ever you do, make sure it’s always intentional and you never give up! Entrepreneurship is not for the weak, it’s something you must be called to. Customer service, knowing your audience, and consistency is what separates businesses. In the very beginning, I truly struggled with consistency because I felt like I had nothing to offer the retail market, it’s very saturated! However, I came to reality that when you walk down the bread aisle at the grocery store, there is so many different brands of bread but something is differed about each one that separates it from the rest. Once I understand that concept, it was game on. or not.
