We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dexter B Jenkins. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dexter B below.
Dexter B, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents Samuel Jenkins & Annie Jenkins instilled in me the value of faith and modeled hard through real estate ownership and entrepreneurship.
My mother was a deeply faith filled woman who took me to church on a weekly basis. Always imploring me to keep God at the forefront of my activities.
While mom spoke about faith. Dad modeled the finance side of things for me. My father has been a barber for 50 plus years and has owned real estate for as long as I can remember.
The story that stands out about my father was his resilience in starting his barbershop,
He worked for 20 plus years saving up to own his own barbershop which he finally did in 1991.
After the shop was purchased a tornado knocked the building down causing it to have to be rebuilt. During the construction phase a contractor ran off with part of the money which was never recovered.
Despite those hardships Dad remained steadfast in his desire to achieve his dream.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a faith-based financial mentor I help individuals raise their level of financial intelligence and use real estate as a wealth creation tool. My clients receive the benefit of my financial services experience, along with my knowledge of how to incorporate real estate investing, into their overall wealth building strategy.
We offer e-books, group coaching, webinars, and conferences to achieve our objective of helping people reach their highest financial potential. A great deal of time is also spent on the inner game of wealth building. Clients are instructed on how to stand firmly at the intersection of faith, finance, and business,

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I believe that in order to thrive as a leader in your business you always have to be growing and learning.
The bible is my go to book for management, leadership, and business. Though most people only look at it through religious eyes, it contains many nuggets of wisdom that can used to run your business, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are the two books in particular that would benefit anyone in business.
Some of my other favorite books are the E-Myth by Michael Gerber, Good to Great by Jim Collins, Rich Dad, Poor Dad Robert Kiyosaki, Born to Multiply by LaShawne Holland.
I have also found YouTube and LinkedIn to be extremely helpful.
Also leaders should also invest in coaching or mentoring of some sort. The right coaches and mentors can help you speed up your success.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The audience I have built has come through sharing my journey. Share the good, bad, and the ugly in real time and people will begin to take notice. What I have learned so far is.
1. You must find your unique voice (comparison is a killer)
2. Know who you serve as everybody is not your client/customer
3. Be consistent with posting and engaging
