We were lucky to catch up with Devon Teeple recently and have shared our conversation below.

Devon , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

It’s tough to define success, I think it’s always evolving. I tend to think back to my own experiences and relive those moments. What transpired from those occasions has helped me be a part of some pretty special conversations with some pretty incredible people. Even being asked to try and to define such a term is one of those moments I’ll reflect on.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

In addition to my focus on the stories of athletes, I have developed a keen interest in the leadership qualities displayed by individuals both within and outside the sports industry. It extends to anyone who demonstrates the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others towards a common goal.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of witnessing and highlighting the leadership qualities exhibited by athletes, coaches, and individuals in various roles within the sports community. From the unwavering determination of athletes pushing their limits to achieve the unachieveable to the guidance and mentorship provided by coaches, these have helped expand my understanding of effective leadership.

Leadership is a quality that can be displayed by anyone, regardless of their industry or role. Leadership is about embracing responsibility, fostering collaboration, and empowering others to reach their full potential. It is about being a role model and exuding integrity.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

The answer is simple “WHO” Who is your audience … How effectively are you going to deliver your message…Objective. What is the outcome you’re looking for…

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

I won’t settle for mediocrity. And this encourages me to constantly strive for excellence. Success is not guaranteed, but it’s always within reach.
