Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Devin Manning. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Devin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Well, When I was younger my family use to make all of my cousins form a group and sing these old gospel songs. So I knew at the age of 3 years old that music was what I wanted to do for the rest of my lift. I really knew when I was about 16 years old and God started dropping songs in my lap. I was writing songs like crazy and by my 21st birthday I had written over 100 songs. his lead me to writing and recording my first single entitled “All The New” releasing it August 2020!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey everybody!! My name is Devin (D.Renee) CEO and founder of DRMusic Group. This is my ministry. I sing, write, produce, and arrange vocals. I have been in love with music since I can remember. I started singing at the age of 3 years old in my church choir. This is where I groomed the already gift of music that God gave to me. Within my company there are several sub-companies. I record bgv’s (background vocals) I write (all genres) I produce and arrange vocals for songs. I also have added one more thing under my belt. I am now a licensed vocal coach and will be soon launching my Worship/Choir workshops. This is something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time but I never had the courage until now.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
First and foremost I aim to make God proud. Then of course my mom. She has been there for me when No one else cared and I owe her everything I have and then some. Also my husband, Wheew That man there has held me down for the last 4 years and I can’t wait to grow with him.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A real life lesson that I had to unlearn was that I couldn’t help everyone and that even those who say they would help and be there LIE! I don’t think that there is really a backstory for im sure that im not the only person to learn this lesson. For me, it was just being there for several people and when I needed the same energy it wasn’t given. This definitely put a pause on my love for music, and helping people but God quickly assured me that I could not quit.
