We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Devin Jarmon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Devin below.
Devin, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want to be known as a fighter. Someone who never gave up. Someone who faced her fears and adversity head on. No risk. No reward. As I continue to push boundaries and innovate in my career , I hope to leave a legacy my children can be proud of. Maybe the proud owner/chef of an up and coming James Beard winning concept or two. I think anything is possible with the right mindset and vision.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Devin worked her way up as many young aspiring chefs do. Working her way through the stations, studying and experimenting on her time off . She has trained under the likes of Michelin Chef Curtis Duffy at Restaurant Ever and Emilio’s Ballato – Emilio Vitolo and more recently managed some of the best kitchen’s in the Charleston South Carolina area over the past 5 years.
Today, Devin works freelance and is an ACF- American Culinary Federation Certified Chef de Cuisine and Escoffier ’17 Alumni.
Devin cultivates the evolving taste of the Charleston Lowcountry blending her experiences from living abroad with where she is today. She hopes to carve out her own path in the industry and be known for her modern approach to southern fine dining fare.
Today you can find Devin showcasing her al a carte menus on Food Fire + Knives , curating your next special dinner www.chefdevinjarmon.com , or Instagram @_yes.chef_ where she shares cooking tips , tricks, and recipes with her followers!
Devin is also the chef owner- operator of Jarmon’s Co. Hot Sauce as well. Instagram is @jarmonsco Website: www.jarmonsco.com
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Social Media- it’s not about the time of day so much as what you post. You want real engagement not just likes. Advertisement through platforms like Meta and Google is a must. You need to budget for it. Not optional. Do not get discouraged. Consistency and perseverance is key. 100 percent.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
If you want your team to care as much as you do , you have to compensate them for that. It’s no longer optional. People need to get with the times , understand societal needs as they evolve. Team equity is the future. Profit sharing , bonuses , benefits. Time is your greatest asset so when you come to work , you’re selling your time- time away from your family or whatever. So that shouldn’t be taken for granted. I’ve found in my business that taking care of my people pays off ten fold. Give them credit. Tell them they did a good job and care about their wants and needs.
