Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DeVante Mack. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
DeVante, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The Ikigai Experiment
For those that may not know. The term is a Japanese concept that combines the elements of your passion, your mission, your vocation and your profession.
The Ikigai Experiment was created to allow business owners the opportunity to talk about their lives as Entrepeneur’s and creatives and give advice to those aspiring to own businesses or get involved in creative spaces.
This project meant a lot to me as a creator and business owner myself to talk with likeminded people and learn from hearing their experiences.

DeVante, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is DeVante Mack. I am a multifaceted content creator as well as the founder/producer for Divergent Being Media and the owner of Details By Mack. Both were founded in 2020.
What I want new fans/followers of Divergent Being to understand is, I take a lot of pride in the content made and produced. I want to make content that can be seen as fun, entertaining and purposeful involving, sports, fashion, cars, music and culture.
To all present and future clients that inquire services from Details By Mack, I treat every detail like an art canvas. I want every vehicle to look like the day you saw it on the showroom floor.
What sets me apart from others is, I have learned to not be scared of failure. I’ve failed many times, I will probably come across failures in the future. What I am most proud of, every failure comes with improvement and all my work has seen major improvement.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I say the hardest part for me is having to make content of my interest and passions and hoping that viewers grasp my art and enjoy it. I understand art can be subjective and viewed differently, so I do not let it get to me but, I would be lying if I said the thoughts of criticism did not linger.
I would also say for anyone pursuing any creative career, you need to have a love for it otherwise you will get burnt out very quickly.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
On society’s end, the best way to support creatives is to like and share their content. If they have merch and you can afford it, buy it.
Speaking for myself only, I try not to compare my art to anyone because my vision is different from most and I have realized over the years that I can not give my 100% if I’m focusing on what others are creating.
On the end of creatives, we need to support and help each other. Whether its shouting out fellow creators, sharing knowledge or collaborating together, we need to support fellow creatives.
