Alright, Dev thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?

I learned how to rap mostly from the artists who inspired me and kind of studying their bodies of work. I think having more trust in my own mind and voice sooner could’ve shortened the learning curve.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I’m Dev Desean I’m a hip hop artist from Louisiana. Been doing music for almost a decade. I’d say I’m most proud of the progress from the quality of my sound to the business aspect behind the scenes. I feel I’ve made strides in learning more about how to monetize my craft as well.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Years ago when I was first introduced to making music I started with a group. It was a group of 3 we were all childhood friends. In this group there’s one friend who is pretty much the resource for our musical journey because he provided the studio, production, as well as his own rapping. Long story short the group divides and i move to Dallas for work. This was a testy period because every resource I had at that time was no longer therefore I had to make a decision of how bad did I want to get better and chase my goals in music, which was exactly what I wanted to accomplish.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?

There really intriguing, I’m personally into the stock market so it’s gotten my attention a few times. The idea of NFTs make a lot of sense especially for the future but I still have a lot to research before actually investing.
