Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Da’Ron Collins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Deuce thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
In 2012 I made the biggest decision and took the biggest risk of my life! I moved away from my entire family and relocated to Los Angeles. I’d received a calling in which I knew that if I wanted to reach another level I’d have to put myself in position to become more than who I was. When I first arrived to LA I was back and forth to the county food stamp line, having to share a car, and use public transportation when I had to. I was dependent upon financial aid from the local community college I attended and eventually graduated from. I had student loans that put me in debt. No one would hire me and unless I wanted to work for dirt cheap. This was one of the lowest points in my life except I knew that I was not too far from becoming a success. Hollywood is filled with stars, influencers, rich people, poor people, and all of the above. I Bet on myself and never looked back. Years later, after a lot of sacrificing, I am now a business owner with the ability to find my music career and market myself on all platforms. I’ve met some of the most humble and ugliest people who have transcended my outlook on life and put me in position to become the best version of me. I’ve found my stride in Los Angeles and never looked back.

Deuce, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From the age of 12 I have been reciting poetry, writing, and performing music. I am now a pianist as well as a rap artist with numerous projects. Endless amount of shows are upcoming in the future, and I also have done project coordinator work for some of the biggest stars Hollywood. A few of the things I am proud of are my humble beginnings and the ability to connect with up and coming Artist. Business has gone well and allowed me to invest more in quality content in order to gain a bigger following. In a sense, I had to learn that attacking my dreams from different angles is best. Instead of being a starving artist, I became an entertainment business owner giving me the ability to fund my own career.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I have had vivid dreams of myself winning awards. I’ve had dreams of performing in front of thousands of people. I have met some of the biggest stars in Hollywood. There is no reason for me to stop now! I’ve always had the mindset of doing music because I love it, and the money will follow.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is that my art will outlive me and allow me to still feel felt when I’m gone. When you look back at all my music videos and you listen to my music, it will make you feel as if I am still alongside my people even when I am longer here.
