We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Destiny Warden a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Destiny, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I believe each business starts, because of a need in myself that I want to fulfill by helping others. First I take the time to gain the knowledge needed to start the business. Once I have an idea, I do the work it takes to execute my vision. The next day or hour I am writing down all my thoughts, plans, and ideas. I have so many papers that I will not throw away. The next month I will research how to run the business, and then work to align with the mentorship needed to assist me. The next year will have its up’s and down’s. However I am always learning as I go. I have to figure out everything …bookkeeping, legal obligations, certifications ,license needed, business structure and so much more. In order to move beyond the idea phase and actually launch I start with the basic things needed to launch the business in my state. Once I have accomplish those things I will officially launch and market to my target audience.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My Name is Destiny. I am a lover, caregiver, yoga teacher, health enthusiast, fashionista, future nurse, girly girl, cook, and entrepreneur. I have a degree in Healthcare Management and a double minor in Business and Marketing from Clayton State University. I am a 200 hour certified yoga teacher. I am currently enrolled in school for Nursing. I am also working to obtain a license for my new business venture. After graduating Clayton State University I wanted to help people heal, and I found a lot of success in my healing process by using yoga. The aspect of being mindful, connecting physically, mentally and spiritually by aligning with my mind, body and soul was the beginning of a healing journey and I wanted to share that with others. Thats what cultivated Destiny Rene Yoga LLC in 2018. I am excited to be offering a new membership base subscription available on patreon.com/DestinyReneYoga. Inspired by my sweet friends who need to be able to relax and exercise in the comfort of their homes. Since Covid I am most proud of Destiny Helpers LLC. I am fortunate to provide private non medical in home care to the elderly. I am looking forward to expand my business this year , and hire my first employees. This business is going on 3 years old and growing,I hope to share more with you along the way. My brand is about helping people and providing care for people. I believe what makes me different is my ability to grow, adapt and learn. I want the readers to see me grow being an entrepreneur is a fight, not at all what you see on social media. The struggle to keep going can be hard, but don’t give up. What make me different is the ability to add value to every client I meet. I am dedicated to spreading peace, love and healing.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategies for growing clientele has been to be patient with my process, and growing at my own pace. When I provide a service for a client I do my best to add value to the client. I research and try to prepare when I have free time to learn more in my field. If I need to stay a little longer to answer yoga questions, its ok. I always remember my values as to why I do what I do. This has made my most effective strategy for growing clientele being word of mouth. This has helped me to build a rapport with my clients and long lasting relationships.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what has helped me build my reputation within my market has been to be dependable, consistent, and professional. Being in the fitness and healthcare industry I am always willing to learn and grow. I will find the help through programs and resources available for entrepreneurs to continue to grow in my market. I always keep my values first and remember how much I want to help people by providing them the best care possible.
