Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Destiny Sampson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Destiny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Honestly, I use to care about asking friends and family to support me and felt uncomfortable and weird about it. I would be so nervous, but the worst they can say is no… Now it’s to the point either they do or they don’t I can’t force anyone to support me. I want people to support me who genuinely wanna support and see me win and happy. but I will eventually find the right people in the right audience that will support me no matter what. I’m grateful for my number one supporter, he supports me through everything I put my mind to and invest into anything I decide
if I have an idea, plan a project, he will support me 100%.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Destiny S. I was born in Columbus I am an serial entrepreneur with my own mobile bar business “Pretty Intoxicologist” Licensed Advanced Esthetician “ Skin & Glo Esthetics and on my free time I enjoy baking and cooking. my mom is a 27+ vet in the beauty industry who works in movie and film in ATL, so watching her blow up in this industry was inspiring, and I love the creation and art of nails I always wanted to be a nail technician, I always got compliments about how good my skin was and people always ask me “What did I do, what did I use?” and it’s honestly crazy to think about so I just always been intrigued to learn more about skin and that’s why I chose aesthetics. I specialize in full body waxing, skincorrecting and facials. With my mobile bar business, I love making drinks out of anything I find in my kitchen. when my clients trust my creativity, I get really excited because they always end up impressed and always satisfied. I am most proud of myself for not giving up because running a business is hard, especially by yourself, trying to put things together, not only to benefit yourself but to benefit others. My biggest downfall is procrastination and self doubt, but I trust in my God and I know I will be successful, and it will work out in my favor. It is challenging sometimes I still feel like giving up, but I know I have major goals, and people counting on me. I want my clients to be satisfied with their services. I want loyal clientele that know they can always trust me and that I will always go above and beyond. I take pride in my work, it feels good to have outstanding results with good feedback.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had to pivot my business and take a pause a few times. I had a passion for nails and then I just immediately stopped. Then I started a clothing business during Covid and I just got lazy and comfortable and didn’t want to do it anymore. So I went to aesthetician school completed that, had surgery and took a long break and got comfortable again not wanting to do anything or put in the work..
Life hit me and I had to realize, if I want to be successful, I have to put in the work, it does get hard, you’re not perfect. Don’t give up. Now I have my license and I’m ready to fully commit and fully invest into my business and open up my own private suite for my clients to be comfortable and have a nice relaxing spa. And with my mobile bar business, I want to be able to travel throughout the state, crafting beauty in every sip!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
My best source of new clients has mainly been word-of-mouth shout out to Sherell! I met her at my beauty school last year, and her and her husband has been supporting me since day one, challenging me with a new dessert outside of my comfort zone and I’m forever grateful for them. Without clients knowing who I am seeing any of my content, pricing, not looking at my website etc, they hear it from somebody and they immediately book with me and the rest is history. I love that for me!
