We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Destiny Rae. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Destiny below.
Hi Destiny, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I’m stoked to elaborate on this, if you hear just the word BANDED many wouldn’t think of a nine banded armadillo representing my brand, nor would your thoughts go straight to banding together for support. Yet that is exactly what Banded is, banding together in the community to grow nurture & support one another. The armadillo holds proudly his armor, bands that join together for protection of his soft interior shielding him from natures elements. My mission is to grow a community with small businesses, creative arts & non profits all with collaboration that is lead with integrity, kindness and grace. When we band together we can create quality armor of amazing leaders, doers & clients that are protected & reaching their destinations successfully.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always been a community curator, just didn’t have a pin point on what I was considered for many years. Between organizing events for non profits in multiple counties throughout Texas, to helping with potlucks when someone in the community passed, and working with individual businesses in brainstorming ideas, growth & business models, banded has always been me.
When I see a need, idea, concept I roll with it to build up people, organizations & encourage hope all over the community. I learned early on not everyone was receptive to growth, kindness & encouragement, that’s when I started becoming more vocal on only working with those who wanted to see others succeed. Competition is easy, collaboration takes work, I work hard for people and I want others to do the same for each other and their businesses.
After many years of hundreds of quarter auctions, bingos, benefits, vendor fairs and award ceremonies, my experience allows me to help guide many organizations to what works and what doesn’t, the connections of small businesses, local musicians as well as artists creates a hub for many opportunities to be discovered.
Banded together is different, I strive for integrity & will not partner or collaborate with businesses nor people who are not the same. I am known for holding people accountable, while grace is given at first, I do not stand for dishonesty, greed or unprofessionalism. I’m proud to work with the best in the community and when that follow up comes around the constructive criticism is welcomed as it grows my brand and the positive feedback fills my soul to let me keep going.
Banded never expects anything out of anyone that I don’t do myself at 100%. From a simple consult, to a full event coordination I hold myself to standards that will leave you inspired, encouraged & worth every single cent you spend. I stand to know there is a solution for everything we just have to adjust our viewpoint & welcome in others to help when needed.
Let Banded help grow the ambiance of your event, brainstorm ideas for your business, or incorporate the community into your non profit, together we can band together for success.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Consistency. Consistency. Consistency.
I am not perfect, but I am consistent. I do what I say, I continue when I want to give up. I grow when needed. I welcome change. I hold to my integrity. I know my standards and I meet them. Consistency is a virtue that continues to grow clients, partners & collaborators.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I pivot all the time. It is a beautiful unique skill that makes my job and live easier. I work with lots of musicians/artists, multiple venues, growing non profits on top of traveling around Texas to follow my husband Bronson Louis’s songwriting career, plenty of moments for situations.
Sprinkle in three kiddos, a 15 year old hound dog and a traveling kitten we have our far share of crazy. Pivot is necessary & encouraged. When you expect change you handle it with grace, no surprises.
Pivoting goes hand in hand with my earlier saying every problem has a solution with a new viewpoint and help from others.
