We were lucky to catch up with Destiny Parson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Destiny, appreciate you joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
The best thing I have done throughout my graphic design journey to show my clients I appreciate them is to continue giving them an undeniable customer experience. It is my goal to ensure that each client I have is completely satisfied with not only the design service that they have received but my customer service as a whole that they have received. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and communication with clients can go a long way in also showing I appreciate them . Going above and beyond by offering additional revisions or providing helpful advice and resources can also demonstrate a willingness to invest in their success. Additionally, sending personalized thank-you messages or offering referral incentives can further show clients that their business is valued. I want to ensure that clients also have great quality services at an affordable pricing as well. I run promotions in order to ensure I can be beneficial to not only my clients but to myself as well.
I have recently also launched a loyalty rewards program. For every dollar spent with Design With Des you receive points which accumulate to money off of future services. I believe this is a great way to not only say thank you to them but to help retain them as well.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
In the summer of 2021, I launched Design With Des as a way to handle the design work for my jewelry and makeup business. With limited financial resources, I took on most of the design work myself, creating flyers, a website, and other marketing materials. Despite the challenges, I was determined to make my business a success and have continued to grow my skills and expertise in the design field.
Through this experience, I discovered my true creativity and passion for graphic design. As I worked to market my business, I found myself creating more and more designs, realizing that it was my true love and not just making jewelry and makeup. This newfound passion pushed me to create even more, and I am now excited to pursue graphic design as a career and explore all of the possibilities it offers.
Design with Des assists bold entrepreneurs in establishing a brand that defies convention, captures interest, and stimulates curiosity. I specialize in text based logo development , e-flyer design , and more.
One could say that what distinguishes me is my perseverance and commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience. I am always looking to surpass expectations and guarantee that all of my clients are completely content with the service I provide.
Design With Des is proud of the trust its clients have placed in the brand. Despite the many options available in the design industry, clients have selected Design With Des for their projects. I am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my work and provide a quality service for clients.
I want current and future clients to know that I am dedicated to not only my business but theirs as well. I offer branding and design services specifically tailored to lively and attentive entrepreneurs , business owners & creatives. I collaborate with entrepreneurs and creatives to create compelling brand identities that attract and engage desired audiences.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding a business can be challenging, but by being committed and disciplined, it’s possible to save money over time. For me personally I had to become head strong enough to say if this is something I genuinely want I need to be putting money aside for it.
I then started taking little by little out of my paychecks from my full time job and putting it away until I had enough money to purchase a MacBook Air , Camera , SD cards and more. I also then began saving for a cricut explore air 2 and luckily my uncle who is very supportive of my dreams ended up purchasing it for me.
I still have not purchase or invested everything I need into my business but I am still daily making strides.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson I had to learn while on this journey is to believe in your own journey and not anyone else’s. Success looks different for everyone and believe it or not it does not happen over time. It takes time and dedication. In due time everything will work itself out the way that it is supposed to.
