We were lucky to catch up with Destiny Holland recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Destiny, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with inspirations and heroes. Are there any historical figures you look up to?
Jesus Christ. I have learned a number of things, but the most important is love. To love those who look different, act different, have different perspectives, beliefs, and even those who treat you wrongly. The greatest thing you can give someone is love. And love is an action – Jesus shows us the ultimate and symbolic display of love by giving His life, and we will never be at the point He was, but it is a great reminder to put others needs before your own, and that life is not about “self love”, but about loving others.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a born and raised Midwesterner with a love for all things creative! I started creating content when I was 15 yrs old, as a “Hannah Montana”-like double life fashion blogger on Instagram. It was a way for me to get out of my comfort zone with talking to people without ever having to show my face. Fast forward 12 years and I am still creating content, it just looks a little different these days. I grew up watching Food Network, and Adam Richman from Man vs Food is MY MUSE! Talk about DREAM JOB! I always said I wanted to be Woman vs Food. And here I am!
While most of my content is centered around food (I love food!), I also create travel content, things to do, UGC, fashion, and so many things!
Take Me There Indy came from the sense of almost euphoria you get when you have a fantastic meal – it just “takes you there”, and is also great for the travel side of things – It also allows me to connect more with my following, making it more interactive “Let me take you to…!”, it’s like you’re coming along with me!
I especially love being able to highlight small businesses, and businesses that people may not have heard of. I always tell people there’s more to food than what you grew up on, and even at that maybe even a better version! Get out and try new things!
With the way social media is set up, this generation is VERY MUCH easily influenced – I would want small business owners to consider Influencer Marketing as a way to get the word out about their spot! And truly consider it a way of investing into their business!
My long term goal would to have a show like Adam Richman’s “Man vs Food”, but not exactly like it…obviously I wouldn’t want to copy him….I have some ideas..
I think what sets me apart is how I lean on Christ to pursue content creation, I try to encourage others through my content, and I aim to get people out of their comfort zone. As I was there once! And even to this day, there are new things I am trying to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone.
I want to be known as someone who never lost faith, and always brought light into a room.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to share my vision with others, and show people places that they might’ve been uncomfortable trying! When I see other creators content sometimes I get inspired myself, so I hope that my content will do the same, and spark inspiration, and thought to get out of your comfort zone!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One day I would love to have a T.V. show centered around the cool places to eat and see around the world! My determination and drive is definitely fueled on the potential of any great thing that could come of this! And, making a living of course. But, not just making a living. Making a living off of something that I was able to build and call my own.
