We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Destiny Henderson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Destiny below.
Destiny, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Starting my own business was a risk! Although I knew I was good at being a virtual assistant, I didn’t know if I would be able to establish the business in a way in which I’d be successful on my own. However, I decided to take the risk anyway. I’ve learned that you have to take risks in order to succeed or even sometimes fail. It’s all a learning process. Risk taking has definitely paid off for me. I’ve been able to go from one client to four clients, making 5 figures in my first year, and I’ve also been able to become a full time entrepreneur as of September 2022. These accomplishments are all results of risk taking.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Destiny Henderson, and I am a virtual assistant. I was blessed to be featured in Canvas Rebel Magazine earlier this year for my makeup business, Real Queen Beats, and since then I have launched my full-time Virtual Assistant business. In this business, I help companies streamline and organize their systems and processes.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Two things: Networking is key. I am constantly talking to people that I know about who I am, what I do, and how I think I can help them. It has been the key to growing my business as successful as it is now. Secondly, actually showing up and doing the work has been effective for me. It’s one thing to talk about it, but you have to BE about it. You have to practice what you preach. You can’t tell people that you can deliver a product, and then ineffectively produce results. You have to be all in and give them your best.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I began this business journey, to be honest, I was broke! Bills were adding up, and there was a moment where I had to work two different part time jobs while maintaining and building my business. It was very hard and tiring at times but we all have to do what we have to do. Through hard work and dedication, I was able to quit both part-time jobs, and now I’m a full time entrepreneur.
