We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Destiny Frye a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Destiny, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I came up for my idea for my business when I lived in the suburbs of New York of Long Island. Where there wasn’t much hip-hop being offered, and I found a niche market to be able to give Families the insight into the culture of hip-hop.
Destiny, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Structure planning dedication and commitment is my first and foremost blueprint. I always like to work outside of the box though and try to find creative ways to stand out so I’m constantly evolving and changing with the new times and technologies which is not always easy to do when you are running your own brand.
The main thing that I’m most proud of his that I’ve been able to promote and highlight my talents with youth and kids that want to break into the entertainment industry I’ve worked with many kids from ages 3 to 17 and helped shape their careers so they can work in this industry for decades to come and getting their exposure young as one of the most important things, because people love to follow you, young and grow with you.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’ve learned that you definitely have to have people in your corner that see your vision and appreciate your talents because it is very easy to work and get burnt out and be drained when you don’t have the right team or support system around you, so taking your time to that, and finding your tribe, I would say, has been my most learned and learnt lesson.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The resilience of my story hasn’t even really began yet everything that I have ever had. I have been little tiny dreams that I have dreamed up my whole life, and now that I am a full adult, and I have the opportunity to do it, and make them come true my only obligation is just to spread that with other people. Life has an incredible way of always moving on, and always moving forward and knowing that change is always going to come is my motivator.
