We recently connected with Destine Green and have shared our conversation below.
Destine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
Torrence Hatch (Boosie Badazz) I grew up listening to his music & watching him grow. All of Boosie songs describes his pain & what he was going through. I could of relate on so many levels. Main songs I relate to was “ my struggle”, “ pain”, “ betrayed”, “ mind of a maniac” list goes on. Boosie basically gave out the blue print to be successful. All had to do was listen & watch. Get it out the mud, stay in everybody face. Be consistent. Keep the hungry drive. Stand on all 10. Show the world who you are, and let them know God want you to ball out, on who doubted you.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My 8th grade year, of middle school. I took a graphic design class. Which had us making stuff on the computer & on items. I start to love it. Fast forward to my senior year of high school. I came up with a name & a design. Put it on a couple shirts. Everybody was loving it. Jump back in & order more shirts. Didn’t sell all like the first go around. So I took a break & study. Marketing, money management, graphic design, what’s hot & what’s not, color waves. How to get a crowd attention. 2 years after that. My grandma pass & my grandfather. To avoid pain I kept myself busy. Relaunch my brand & didn’t stop working. Push myself so hard I finally met my role model & went to his house Boosie Badazz. Myself coming from a small town & getting that opportunity. Made me look at life different. You put the work & you get results. No matter area you in. My proudest moment was bring Boosie son “ Tootie Raww” & Ti son “ king Harris” to my home town for my event. That made me feel legendary. One day ima bring Boosie to town. My designs from my clothing, comes from my pain & what I’m going through. All my drops was popular always sell out.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I kept finding ways to get people attention. I’ll take pictures of people in my merch at different locations & post it every week. Then I start tagging celebrities & public figures
How did you build your audience on social media?
Stay consistent don’t stop for nothing. Keep everything in people face. I took pictures everyday/ weekend of my merch. If you just starting out. Study & learn what kind of audience you trying to attract.
