Desree, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Doing the unfamiliar things to be different in your field

Desree, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Desree Robinson. I was born and raised in Dallas, in the Oak Cliff area. I created “Lost Kids” back in March, 2009. At that point I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. So, I slept in this idea for years. It took until May, 2019 to realize that there is a future for me. I watched people in my life always get overlooked for their mistakes and I am one of them. I created “Lost Kids” in hope of helping other people and adolescents who are in my shoes and maybe bring something more to the art industry. Who knows why some people do not get the opportunity? Maybe some people’s parents could not afford it; maybe trials and tribulations. Or, maybe it was just one thing called “Life” in general. Either way I am asking everyone who fits the description, regardless of what is wrong with you, STEP UP! Nobody understands or even knows what a person is going through unless you “ASK”.
I have high hopes that these books will open doors for not only me but also others just like me. My ultimate goal is to open an art school which is M&M Beginners Art School. I want to eliminate as many obstacles as possible for this upcoming generation.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

During the pandemic I learned resilience. I kept putting all my dreams and goals on hold but, I kept getting back up I was told my trademark will take 5 years. It only took 2 years but, if I didn’t have resilience I would of go discouraged, doubted myself now my logo is officially trademarked.

My job is my capital for my business and if I get donations for tools needed to fulfill my orders
