Desmond , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Quality control is a challenge almost every entrepreneur has had to focus on when growing – any advice, stories or insight around how to best ensure quality is maintained as your business scales?
The outlook of maintaining quality control is defining my style and always staying on brand with the message that I believe in. My beliefs and how I wanted to view myself. The direction that I envisioned for the my business and how others would talk about past events to future clients. Most of my quality control would be to genuinely connect with my clients, doing more than just the requirements, thinking less about the money but more about customer satisfaction and what would luxury service look like to me. My advice to anyone would be just imagine if the tables were turned what would you be looking for in a person, what would make you go back and say wow I had such a great time
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Desmond Justin Adedamola Edson I am a luxury bartender and run a brand called DrinksByDez we specialize in bartending services, mixology classes and events . I began bartending around seventeen going into eighteen, went to college in Philadelphia, learned about entrepreneurship and innovation applied that to bartending created my brand, expanded and solidified my business moved Los Angeles. Learned the lay of the land, and continued to expand throughout the west coast through organic conversation, learned a lot of different business tactics that are much more suitable for the west coast. DrinksbyDez Mixology Classes is a new addition to the brand that we are currently promoting as next will be the events, we truly appreciate the support and expect to do a lot of help throughout the community.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I had to pivot was was during Covid I had only lived in Los Angeles for about a year and I was heartbroken to think I was so close to conquering Los Angeles and that I had made such a great decision, then I thought I was really just going to move in with my sister in Seattle, and give it a rest call it a day. I am happy that I didn’t leave and decided to pivot in the way I was looking at my Bussiness and my clientele. As for what I want and what they were looking for. Even my promotional tactics had to change and I had to really make plays take chances and I’m grateful for it

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategies for growing clientele is organic word of mouth, and really connecting with your clients making them feel welcomed. Innovation as well.
