Deslyn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Hello, my name is Deslyn owner of Quality Content LLC started in Michigan but am now located in Florida. (Quality Content) Koality Kontent is a sustainable collection of puzzles for animal lovers and avid puzzlers looking for a high-quality puzzle that is both mentally challenging and environmentally conscious. Our puzzles are made with strong, precisely cut materials and captivating images that are meant to bring awareness to the threats posed to our wildlife, and strengthen our connection to nature.
While some puzzles are entertaining and challenging, they tend to lack personality and purpose. Koality Kontent provides visually captivating puzzles with strong, environmentally positive imagery to stimulate your mind and connect you to nature.
Not only are our puzzles made with high-quality, sustainable materials but the imagery used is directly tied to our purpose, doubling as educational tools to spread awareness while showing puzzlers how to take action. Unlike most puzzle companies, we use aqueous varnish for our puzzle pieces and use recycled linen paper and chipboard for our pieces. Using these materials reduces harmful emissions into the environment, and increases the durability of the pieces, with less susceptibility to physical damage and discoloration over time. Our puzzles are also double vacuumed for an allergen-free puzzling experience and with precision cut technology, puzzle pieces fit right and tight this first time!

Amid the 2020 pandemic, many of us became isolated and trapped, evoking a desire to escape! For some , began an even greater disconnect from the world around us and the outdoor exploration we are accustomed to. We saw this as an opportunity to heal our connection with ourselves and the nature that surrounds us through high-quality, sustainable jigsaw puzzles with a purpose
I am Deslyn! A retired pharmacist who swapped a life of metrics and calculations for activism and creativity. After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in 2019, I began confronting the idea of the message and legacy I wanted to leave behind, and thus, Koality Kontent was born in Michigan in 2020.
As an avid nature explorer herself with bonds inside the puzzle community, I saw an opportunity to not only connect with puzzle fanatics but also educate them on their connection to nature and the importance of protecting it. Since then, I instill pride in myself by engaging with other puzzlers and having a passionate stance on the positive effects puzzling can have on both the brain and the environment.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I learned is that I am not an island. I am not an expert in all things. Delegate is not a bad word! I had to learn to let go and seek out the experts (digital marketing, social media, and Amazon store assistance) to assist me in growth and clarifying my vision. I spent a lot of money unnecessarily. I would find the expert in the areas I do not know instead of figuring it out myself and wasting time and money

Koality Konte is all about ARTIST ADVOCACY, HIGH-QUALITY SERVICE, and MATERIALS with SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES We commission artwork from puzzlers who are also deep into environmental conservation. Part of the proceeds of puzzle sales, goes towards the artist and 2% to the World Wildlife Fund. We are also heavily into sustainability and education. On my social media, you will find tips on recycling and purchasing behavior as well as fun facts and BTS videos on our materials. We use recycled chipboard, post-consumer packaging materials, and aqueous inks for the least amount of emissions into the atmosphere.
Our materials are also certified through the Forest Stewardship Council with environmentally and people safe ink
