We recently connected with Desiree Guerrero Richardson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Desiree, thanks for joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am the absolute happiest when I am drawing, doodling and creating. I wish I could do it everyday. There is a saying that if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life. And that is something I most definitely want to experience. I want to create a living where the only thing I need to do is create. My art makes me happy and I wish I could share that with more people. Some of us go through hard times and need an escape. We all deserve a release and my art does that for me and I’d like to provide that to other people. I’ve recently started printing my art on t-shirts and hoodies and I am just ecstatic that I have the opportunity to share what I love.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a self taught doodler who taught herself how to paint. I’ve created and IG page, started show casing some art in TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. Getting yourself out there is a process. Especially if you want to do it right. I put a lot into my art and I was to give it the appropriate showcase it deserves. I’m proud with what I’ve done so far and I’m proud I haven’t given up. I know what I want to do and I won’t stop until I reach my goal. I want my artwork all across the world. I know how ambitious it sounds, but my cute, glittery, funny, colorful paintings are an extension of me. I’m glittery, I”m colorful, and I want the world to be glittery and colorful too!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is knowing that someone will notice my drawings and it will cause a reaction. It’s knowing my colorful glittery contribution to the world will be acknowledged. I want to reach out to everyone of all ages and share my creations and leave a mark in their memory.

Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
My goal in life is to say I reached my goal in life of doing what I love. I want to be old and tell people that anything is possible if you just focus on what you love doing.
