Desiree, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?

I was sitting in a make up chair getting my make up done for New Years Eve 2021 and my cousin Vanessa who had set it up my make up appointment asked if I had ever thought of doing a full fledged grazing table, she was getting married that February and wanted one for the reception. I had done a good handful of boards for myself only up to that point but I accepted and we started planning the table. In the interim I did a limited run of boxes that Valentine’s Day and sold out in just a few hours so I decided to take a risk and here we are! It’s been an incredible experience and ride so far!

Desiree, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I own a Charcuterie Company and we specialize in Charcuterie Boards, Grazing Tables and Food Styling. We take pride in providing a little bit of an ‘extra’ experience with every order because at the end of the day, food and gift giving are our love languages so every order feels like a little bit of that to us we want the recipient to feel the same! We love fun foods and adore being being fancy and want every one who sees their boards for the first time to light up with excitement and a just a little hesitation to eat because its so beautiful to look at! We do view our tables, boards and boxes as each a small work of art and a gift, whether it’s to someone you love or to yourself as a treat! Each masterpiece is carefully curated with the best cheeses and meats, seasonal produce and tons of other goodies as we also strive to make it taste as good as it looks!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Social media has been such a great place to showcase our business and all of our creations! We took the ‘Word of Mouth’ approach and wanted to grow organically making most of followers friends, family and clients and people who truly love food and food art! We didn’t want to necessarily ‘invite’ full friend lists and left that up to each person to follow us out of genuine support or interest! I’m extra grateful for the following we have online that grows with every event we do and with the addition of our newest page on Tik Tok, we hope to reach an even greater number of people in the Denver Area who love foodie things as much as we do!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Word Of Mouth! We have been so incredibly fortunate to not only have a really large network of people we grew up with, but our people have a ton of people! The old adage of “It’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know, certainly has rang true for us and we couldn’t be more grateful for all of our friends and family who have supported this venture, shared our posts on social media, recommended us to their own friends and family all which have contributed to our ever growing client base! Going forward you may start to see us at more pop up events and farmers markets to expand our clientele, but until then we are so happy with our journey and love our past clients and ones to yet place an order with us!
