We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Desiree Bentley Jordan Fisher . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Desiree Bentley below.
Desiree Bentley, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
A lot of people kind of chuckle when they hear the name of our business, but we wanted something that would stick out and also make sense. We named our company Tap That Mobile Bar because be built a tap truck that can tap any kind of drink or cocktail. We work with kegs that our bartenders can make drinks in that are all customizable. We offer so much more than just our mobile bar but it is what fits and we love it!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Tap That Mobile Bar became a real deal during 2020. It’s almost our Covid baby. Jordan and I were both unemployed at the time with everything being shut down due to Covid. We were finally ready to go into business for ourselves. I remember sitting down writing out our goals and what we were good at. Then it hit us, with 20 years of experience combined in the bar industry we knew we could make this work. Our first full year it was a lot of word of mouth for our events. We completed 14 events in that year and had never been happier! As we just ended our second year in business we ended with 37 total events. WGAR Country Jam & WMMS Buzzard Fest were our biggest accomplishment’s of the year serving over 5,000 people each day. We have had ALOT of learning curves but this is something we look at and could not be happier to have taken the leap. A lot of hard work, sweat, tears, laughing , and crying have gone into our business and we can not wait to see what 2024 brings us.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I (Desiree) met my business partner Jordan in High School. We had gone to the same schools since we were in elementary but never really seemed to hit it off. One day we hung out with a bunch of common friends and decided that we were both hilarious. We have now been friends for 17 years & business partners for 3. They say it’s tough going into business with family or friends, but we know how to compliment each other well and pick up where the other one is slacking.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Growing clientele has been all word of mouth for us. We have so many events where we have asked how they have heard about us and it was from a friend of a friend. We do a lot of networking and love working with other small businesses through our social media. But our main strategy is giving great service every time so that if anyone is ever looking for bartending services we are the first name that comes up!
