We recently connected with Desi Feind and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Desi , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The most meaningful pieces that I have created have been my celebration of life jewelry. In 2022, my best friend, Janna passed away. She was more than my friend, she was family, and was a catalyst in my life who inspired me to be an entrepreneur. I wanted to make a piece of jewelry that celebrated her life, but also reflected her personality. Thinking about her, she was magnetic, daring, intelligent, and fun, living fearlessly, and unapologetically. My inspiration for the piece I created was from a tattoo design that she wanted but unfortunately never got.

With the help of her sister, Holly, I was able to design and create a piece that incorporated her finger print, birth stone, favorite color, and her name. When I wear it, I feel so connected to her and it has been a positive way to keep her memory close to me through life.

Since the initial piece, I created in memory of Janna, I have been honored to create several other celebration of life pieces incorporating fingerprints, hair, and ashes from loved ones, both human and pet. My celebration of life pieces take input from loved ones, and allow me to create a personalized design handcrafting a one of a kind sterling silver jewelry piece that can be passed down, celebrating their remarkable loved one.

Desi , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hello, my name is Desi Feind. I am the owner and creator of Earth Goddess Gems, a metaphysical gift shop.

My product lines include zodiac & intentional bath/shower ritual soaks with botanicals, crystal infused gem oil elixirs and uplifting aura sprays, dried floral wands, crystals, gemstone pet charms, crochet crowns, jewelry and celebration of life pieces.

Everything started for me at an early age. My path to creating and designing started in Santa Fe, New Mexico, watching my mother create handcrafted art, home decor, and jewelry. I debuted my first line of handcrafted jewelry at Regina’s Boutique in Santa Fe, under the name Desi Feind Designs in 2014, My creativity has served as an outlet for my imagination, spending countless hours sketching, clay sculpting, creating ceramic arts, crocheting, glass blowing, and designing handcrafted jewelry.

As I have evolved as a person, in February of 2022, I rebranded, launching Earth Goddess Gems. I expanded my product offerings focusing on using botanicals that I grow organically in my garden. I use only natural and organic ingredients that are good for you and the planet. My ritual soaks can be used in the bath or shower. They are energetically infused to heighten your frequency and are good for all skin types. My uplifting aura sprays incorporate the healing benefits of essential oils and are infused with rose quartz crystal energy and Florida water. These sprays have energy cleansing properties and are charged with moon energy. In my gem elixirs, I incorporate gem infusion with the use of natural gemstone crystals and energetic infusion with the use of intentions, and sound frequencies.

Additionally, I became a silversmith and create one-of-a-kind sterling silver pieces, making celebration of life jewelry.

Earlier this year I launched a new website, earthgoddessgems.com, and released monthly and quarterly subscription boxes. I am also excited to share Earth Goddess Gems’ products can also be found at Local Gather in Mesa, AZ; with plans to add additional store locations soon.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

I’m living my dream, and it fills my heart with so much gratitude and joy when clients enjoy and love the products I make. I love creating products and spiritual tools that empower people to tap into their inner wisdom. My products allow clients to leverage the power of intention, amplify their vibration and frequency to manifest desires, and supporting them on their journey, while working in harmony with nature.

Another rewarding aspect has been around creating and designing my celebration of life jewelry pieces. It has been such an honor and humbling experience to help others create lasting memories of their remarkable loved ones.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

It is absolutely critical to choose and support local small businesses, artisans, and creatives. Community support means the world to a small business or artist. So much love goes into having a small business, creating products, and art. Nothing compares to buying something that was made with love. When you buy from a local small business or artist that money directly goes to back into the local community. It does make a difference, because you are supporting someone’s passion, dream, and family. I highly encourage people to start looking into their community and seek out local creatives, supporting small businesses to keep your local community thriving.
