We recently connected with Derrick Brown and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Derrick, thanks for joining us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?

Here at Clever Sound Productions we are a fully automated online drop shipping service. And we rely on solid data in order to bring in constant and new customers. However to be efficient on well established selling platforms you must not have 1% charge back rate, in order to take full advantage of all the perks.

So when we receive a unfounded charge backs it sets us back not only in benefits as selling on trusted platforms, but also has financial set backs as well.

The feeling is betrayed and hurt because we are trying to make a honesty living.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

As many may my life got started late at the age of 36. (2006) I spent 13 1/2 years in prison and 6 1/2 years on for parole. When I left those walls all I had was small bag of letters, and personal things, no car, house nothing.

But because of the drive I’ve always had to succeed I started to rebuild my life from scratch. I will never forget my first job working at a hot metal company for 7.25 an hour. Each job after that I use as schooling for the level of my life (please see LinkedIn for my job history)

Since then I’ve come a very long ways, my wife has been here with me for over 16 years now, purchased our home five years ago, I currently a very prestigious job, Iam a music producer, and have several pretty awesome social media platforms.

As now been pretty focused on producing music, that will provide money to our kids one day.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

Everyone wants to be apart of the team, remind everyone that they are very important to the growth not just for the company but for them selves as well. As a owner/leader its your job to monitor any disgruntled employees, and why they are disgruntled, and see what can be done that would help bring them up to par with the companies goals.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

Iam currently the process pivoting Clever Sound Productions with creating music, to just branding all future released music under my name (Derrick Brown). I believe the results will be outstanding in the future.
