Dero, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

My parents since I was very young, instiled into me that I can do whatever I want to do. And when I do anything, do it the best. That drove my confidence high but my work ethic even higher, I was never told what I couldn’t do, I always had the love and support to achieve anything. Even if it was small, I could do it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

It all started about 2015-16, after I graduated I remained around friends that supported my music. The year of 2016 I released my first official mixtape, dipping my feet in the water for the first time. But at the end about August of 2018 I released my first debut conceptual album. This was my Turning point and realizing my potential in my artistry, I just got into production of my own beats as well, writing treatments for music visuals. I created a record label at that time as well, it was more of a representation of me at the time “Awake Thou Kids Records”, and what that means is to awaken to your dreams, open your mind. That’s exactly how I felt getting to this point of creation, and eventually I would love to help others into a similar direction with my brand.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I feel one of my goals is just to bring awareness to the minds of the youth, to think for themselves, question the things around them, even learning about who they want to be. A lot of music being made today isn’t a bad thing, but at such a young age we sometimes can’t tell what’s real and what’s entertainment. So if I’m entertaining you, let me bring awareness.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Discovery, I love when people contact me or word of mouth about my music. That means the most to me than any money in the world. Especially when they across the world and not near me, like how did you even find me? Let’s me know that’s I’m effecting people not even around me at all. Keeps me going
