Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Derek Stroker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Derek, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Music has always been my outlet! I first realized I wanted to pursue a creative path when I was very young growing up in Miami. As a kid, I was always fascinated with art and the world around me. As I grew older and picked up guitar and songwriting, it became clear that this was more than a passion. Every step, from studying music production in college to becoming a recording artist in Nashville. Then moving back to Orlando to start my beautiful family, has confirmed that creating music is truly my calling. Along the way, I ventured into the world of graphic design, becoming an art and creative director for several Fortune 500 companies. Both music and visual arts have allowed me to express my creativity in different ways, and together they shaped the professional path I’ve dedicated my life to.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
At my core, I’m a musician, songwriter, and designer who is passionate about creating art that moves people. I’ve been playing music for as long as I can remember, starting with the drums, and then picking up guitar and songwriting. I eventually studied music production at Valencia College in Orlando, opening doors to many opportunities in both the music industry and creative arts.
Alongside music, I’ve spent years working as an art and creative director for several Fortune 500 companies, including launching my own design firm. This gave me a unique perspective on how to merge creativity and business, which I now apply to everything I do.
In terms of services, I offer exclusive live performances, custom songs for special occasions and corporate events, and original music showcases. Through my music, I aim to help clients and fans celebrate significant moments, create feel-good memories, and bring people together. On the design side, I offer consulting, marketing and creative solutions for corporate and personal brands. My focus is branding and storytelling, helping clients visually express their authentic identity.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend my passions, music and visual design, to create immersive and personal experiences. I’m proud of working independently and building relationships directly with my fans and clients. Everything I do is tailored to make the connections more meaningful and unique, whether through music or creative collaborations.
At the heart of it all, I strive to create art that moves you, emotionally or physically. Whether it’s through a custom song that tells your story or a live event that brings people together. My brand is all about authenticity, creativity, and offering experiences that go beyond the surface. Honestly, I’m thankful every day to be able to use my passions and creativity to create unforgettable moments.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a music artist and creative is the ability to connect with people on a deeper level through my work. Whether it’s music or visual design, I love seeing how something I create can evoke emotions, inspire someone, or even help them celebrate a special moment in their life. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about knowing that my art can resonate with someone and become a meaningful part of their story. It’s the connection, the shared experience, and the chance to make an impact through creativity that keeps me going every day.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Art is one of the most powerful forces in this world. To support artists and creatives, we need to recognize the impact that art has on shaping our culture, social interactions, and outlook. Art is not just a form of entertainment, it’s the heart of human expression. It challenges norms, inspires change, and helps people connect in ways we can’t explain.
To build a thriving creative community, we need to invest in the arts, not just financially, but by creating more opportunities for exposure, collaboration, and education. Creatives and musicians should be seen as a vital contribution to society. Creativity heals, it inspires, and it sparks innovation.
We can support artists by showing appreciation. It can be attending a live or virtual show, purchasing work and physical products (merch, albums, art, etc.), or simply sharing and engaging with creative content on social media (every engagement matters!). By recognizing the value that art brings to our everyday lives, we can build a more vibrant and inclusive creative ecosystem.
