We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Derek James Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Derek James below.
Alright, Derek James thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job?
No matter how great you are, it’s more about how much you value yourself, enough to believe that…. You’re worth that one clutch moment that will create the life that you want. Because no one will value you, like you.

Derek James, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Known as Derek James, the CEO of Gifted Geniusez Georgia (aka 3GLLC for short)
Gifted Geniusez Georgia
A conglomerated business set up and designed to be a juggernauted pillar for business services, entertainment endeavors, marketing and media platforms, and community based impacts for the empowerment of neglected resources for better mindsets.
With a plethora of subsidiary businesses and organizations underneath the umbrella of 3GLLC (as so rightfully nicknamed), these operating systems coincide with one another to implement bigger projects.
Originally found in 2009 from a business endeavor that ended with me inheriting my business partners half of assets due to a retirement from business practices (Jeff Harmon which was the behind the scenes brain), started as a recording and production label with access to marketing designs and was tailor made to be supremely self sufficient. Reasons for that is due to no beliefs within what we were creating was for a mainstream appeal.
From there the poet was born that evolved into a published songwriter and stage performer. After a brief retirement from that, I eventually made a return as an event producer and became a DJ in the process. Realizing the hustle and financial blessings that come with it decided to become a full time DJ and kept the marketing aspect in place. Obtaining the marketing degree ,(graduating in 2027) has propelled myself as a business genius as I am always listening to my business coach and mentor Terri Ford, and is now established as a regional powerhouse DJ, known all over Georgia and Alabama.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
This question is towards the testimony to keep pushing even if you have to push it yourself.
Always the one to be counted out or doubted for the greatness from within. These last six years were a testament to believe regardless. From being fired from a great job to being abandoned by those we thought were business associates, realized in the last two years that shedding that weight and using the moments as fuel to the fire helped propel us to a prominence that can never be ignored. It also taught me that to be great you have to be great at two things, either inspiring people or pussing people off. And both are equally satisfying.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
So I decided to fund this endeavor completely out of pocket so adding being a door dash independent contractor help financial foundations. It also gave me the freedom to fund this. DJ’ing also is a major financial grounding as it has grown to being a valuable asset as well as being able to be high priced value. Creating marketing ads and content for small businesses has been a growing tool for us as well.
The biggest part of the financial growth was that moment when my finance told me to follow this dream and gave me the space to do so. This may solely be the biggest chance and risk to make it all happen and we took the opportunity to make it reality.
