We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dennisha Bellinger. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dennisha below.
Dennisha, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
It takes lot of hard work, discipline and dedication to be successful. Lots of sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears. Running a business is not as easy as social media makes it seem. It’s really tough especially when you’re working a full-time job too. There will be plenty of times where you feel discouraged and unmotivated. I’ve been there, done that. But if it’s something you really want, you have work hard for it – no excuses.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Since I was a kid, I always loved fashion. I knew when I grew up I wanted to work in the fashion industry. I always dreamed of being a fashion designer but I wasn’t that creative and couldn’t draw at all. So I had to come up with another plan. While in college, I decided I wanted to launch my own boutique and finally had the courage to launch once I graduated.
At Pure Flawless Boutique, we offer easy, stylish everyday outfits for women on the go who love to dress cute and be comfy too. We want to take the stress out of getting dressed everyday. That’s why we offer clothes that are easy to throw on and go and don’t require you to do too much. They can easily be dressed up or down and worn to many occasions. We like to give the girls options.
Honestly, I would say I’m most proud of just launching my boutique and staying at it for 3 years and counting. It takes a lot of courage to start a business especially when you don’t know if the support will be there. I will say that I’m so appreciative of the people that have supported me thus far and look forward to seeing my business continue to grow over the years.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my customers through social media, email marketing and text marketing. I think it’s so important to interact with your customers as it helps build trust and loyalty. I also started a loyalty program last year to reward customers for continuously shopping with us.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
My full-time job funded my business. Every time I got paid I would save as much money as I could, after paying bills to launch my boutique. Once I launched, I would still put a little money aside from my paycheck to continue to fund my business. Once I became a little more established, I started building business credit and applied for a business credit card.
