We were lucky to catch up with Dennis Tiggs recently and have shared our conversation below.

Dennis, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

The 1st time I realized that I wanted to pursue music professionally was when I realized that it was a job but didn’t feel like one. I would turn every situation I went through into a song, a beat, or a melody. The music naturally came out of me

Dennis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I go by D.Tigg$, I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Moved to Atlanta in 2010 and that’s when things started to take a turn for me. I’ve always done music, but I think being in a larger Market kinda helped push my music and career. I feel as though I provide more a vibe to music, more of a laid back but interesting touch. I’m pretty versatile which actually helps with the harmonizing on my tracks. I’ve always looked at myself as an “Artist” not a “Rapper”. I want everybody to know that I didn’t get here by myself, I really appreciate all the relationships and situations that I’ve been apart of thus far. I wouldn’t be here without my team and networking.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

I think society can help support music artist by liking post and listening to their music. That’s the cheapest way to support because it’s free. You never know you might actually like the music that you’re giving a try.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to unlearn is “Don’t put yourself into competition with the next person, stay I’m competition with yourself!” We’re all looking at each other’s careers from the outside looking in. Your only competition should be the person you was yesterday.
