We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dennis Morton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dennis below.
Dennis, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
A lot of corporate companies don’t take the time to actually train individuals in the field they’re hired for when it relates to that companies workflow. A lot of companies use the same programs and systems however, the way they are manipulated varies from company to company, which is why they need to proper training class to ensure proper knowledge and understanding of there career field.

Dennis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I actually got into photography by accident. I had one of my friends Gerald Irvin get me into photography because he needed another person to assist him in a photography venture he had. Once that happened I actually got my own camera and started working on things that I liked. I started looking at other peoples Instagram pages and coming up with my own style. From there it took off into portraits, landscapes, and taking photography trips. I became part of a photography crew called CrewThickATL. Since then I’ve been doing my best to master my craft and get better and better daily.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One time I was actually at work and my car got broken into. At that point they stole every ounce of photography equipment I had minus my computer. From there I sat back and contemplated giving up photography. Then I told myself I had to push myself and become a better photographer, and don’t let small thing stop me from my major goal. So I rebranded myself, acquired a new camera, lenses, and accessories to sustain myself and continue with photography.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
At one point in time, I was so focused in on photography and trying to master my craft. I started to lose focus on raising my child and ensuring she had what she needed from her father. So I had to pivot out of the photography role and more into the parenting role. Balance is key.
