We were lucky to catch up with Dennis Lawrence recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dennis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
First i started by doing local performances in our Primary school. After time passed, i started to write my own lyrical works and the thing kept growing inside me steadily till my high-school years that is when people around me started to push me to go harder in my music carrer. From then i’ve never lose the momentum
Dennis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Musician specialized in Rap/Hip Hop genre. I am from Tanzania (Eastern of Africa). I’m one of those underground artists with the dream to reach far, talking worldwide. Till now i managed to expand my network by reaching few outsiders most of them are in music industry too like producers, other artists etc. For now i’m working under two music groups but they are closely related. I’m proud of my work because as by time, i have developed skills on my language and lyrics for example right now i can write my whole lyrical work in pure and clear English. This helps me to reach more audiences and develop my carrer.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I spend most of the time listening to interviews of famous artists who are much successful in Entrepreneurship like Jay Z, J Cole, Birdman, 21 Savage and the two lates Young Dolph and Nipsey Hussle. They helped me to understand more on how you can turn your popularity to an opportunity to make generational wealth rather than unnecessary flexing on jewelry and expensive things which are not pay in return.
