We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Deniz Kilic a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Deniz, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

I truly believe in order to be successful in anything you do, including owning your own business, you need to have a real connection with your clients and your community. Building these personal relationships not only brings in more business, but a connection and trust that is invaluable. When your clients trust you, they believe in you. And with that trust, comes referrals, other business offers and success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

When looking back on it, I feel like Astrology and Real Estate found me! I’ve always been drawn to Astrology and Crystals ever since I was a child. I was very sensitive to the energies of the Crystals and to people around me. At a young age, I developed a heightened sense of intuition and empathy. Through my thirst of knowledge at this young age, I would have my parents take me to bookstores so I could read as much as I could about these metaphysical subjects. It wasn’t until 6 years ago, when I moved to Florida, I started to join several Meetup groups involving Astrology and Spirituality. I also met many members of our local Astrology Sector (NCGR) and went to several of their workshops. From that, I realized I had a natural affinity for understanding Astrology and Natal Charts. I studied on my own and with other seasoned Astrologers; Delray Beach Astrologer Barbara Ruzzene, being one of them.

Through learning about the stars and planets, I realized how much I loved helping others who are looking for guidance. That’s exactly when I felt called to start my Astrology business; ‘Moonlight Astrology Boutique.’

My Real Estate journey was a long one as well. It all started in 2014 when I was I was working in the hospitality industry. I was invited by a hotel guest, who was impressed by my service, to come manage a boutique Hotel/Condo in Montauk, New York. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse because I enjoyed Property Management in addition to hospitality, and I’ve always dreamt of managing a hotel. Through this experience, I learned all aspects of Hotel and Property Management. I was then asked to acquire a Real Estate license in NY so I could sell these condo units, in addition to managing them. That’s when I realized I had a love for Real Estate as well, and when I moved back to Florida after my contract was over, I would be doing it here part time and transitioning to full time.

What sets me apart in my Real Estate business the most is the way I infuse wellness into all my client relationships and transactions. By taking a holistic approach, I thoughtfully guide my clients and take the well-being of the whole person into account while building meaningful relationships. It’s not a transaction I’m after; it’s a deep, personal connection to those that I work with.

In addition to being a Realtor, I love introducing Astrology to my clients. This connection helps me gain a greater understanding of their needs and that aligns with them energetically. Purchasing a home in this current market is challenging, and this helps greatly with the process. I want my clients to know that I care deeply about their needs, and want to genuinely help them through whatever hardships they are facing. I will always fight for my clients and the right thing.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Resilience is what keeps you going, regardless of the challenges and setbacks you experience. Life is not one straight line that goes upwards, it’s a series of ups and downs, similar to the stock market or any business model. How you deal with it is completely based on your mindset. The only person that’s stands in your way, is yourself. When you realize the inner strength that is within you, that is when you realize you can take on anything. It’s this mindset that will get you through the tough times.

I’ve experienced a lot of ups and down in my journey, more than I ever thought I would. The biggest one was the passing of my Mother in 2020 from Covid. It really changed me a lot. While I was grieving, I had to close my store front because I couldn’t imagine having that Astrology Boutique without her being there. Ironically, the Real Estate market exploded in South Florida and the building ended up being sold anyway. I did not let it stop me from doing what I love. I realized that my Mother would want me to continue helping others through Astrology, regardless of having a store front. She would leave me little notes about how proud of me she was. And when I found these notes after her passing, I knew I had to continue to make her proud. I know she is with me to this very day, helping me and guiding me along my path.

I also have to stay strong for my Father who suffers from Dementia. He is one of the other reasons I continue on my path as a Realtor and Astrologer. He was one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. When he immigrated to this country from Turkey 40 years ago, he started his own business and became incredibly successful. His success is what inspires me today, to keep going in my business and to continuously grow as a person. Having to be a caretaker for a sick parent changes your outlook on life, and it’s what gives me the strength and resilience to handle anything that comes my way.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Being consistent and constantly learning more about my industry, whether that’s Real Estate or Astrology. I continuously take Real Estate and Astrology courses so I can provide more knowledge to my clients. I believe being well versed in my area of expertise is what helps maintain a great reputation in my market. Getting to know my community has also helped, though social events and charities. Reviews and referrals are another way I built my reputation within the market.
