We were lucky to catch up with Deniya Barron recently and have shared our conversation below.
Deniya, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I know this may seem like a common risk between all small businesses, but money is one of major risk that I took when I invested in my business. I invested so much of my saving into my business and the age of 19 I didn’t have much so the ‘little’ that I did invest was A LOT at the time. I took it as a leap of faith, I spent THOUSANDS trying to make sure I had perfected everything. (I still am to this day!) My business could’ve flopped right there but it took off in a short amount of time & I got that investment back times three! I wish I could say that about every time I invested but… you win some, you lose some!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Deniya Barron; I am many things. I am a Senior at THE Illustrious Savannah State University, I am a business owner and hard worker! I’m currently 21 years old and from a very small town in Middle Georgia. I started my business when I was nineteen years old originally! The idea came upon me because so many people were interested in the hair that I had. People always used to ask where I purchased my hair from and I kind of got known off the fact of having quality hair and hairdos/colors that stood out. I love hair, I love everything about hair! I started searching for vendors and slowly started testing them out. I spent months and thousands doing this because I was so big on quality over quantity. I wanted something that everybody would love but also sell it at a reasonable price. We sell quality lace front wigs, bundles, accessories, and merch! What set ‘UnDenaible Hair Collection’ apart from other hair vendors is that we specialize in having everything on-hand! It’s my mission to make it a one stop shop. You don’t have to wait on your product or question the quality because there is no need to! Everything is already there. I’m most proud of the feedback of my brand and how reliable my customers find me and my brand!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Social Media!! Social Media is so big in our generation so it has become a marketing tool for being that it is free and reliable! It makes it so easy to get the word around and promote my product!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Yes, absolutely! I love for customers to send me pictures in their hair and merch! It’s one of my favorite things about owning a business is seeing people in my product. I also treat my loyal customers to discounts because where would I be without them honestly!
