We recently connected with Denisha and Lamar Wolford and have shared our conversation below.

Denisha and Lamar, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

My name is Denisha, and I have struggled throughout my life with eczema and dry skin. For the longest time I couldn’t find a lotion that could keep my skin moisturized
throughout the day. I remembered being embarrassed at how dry and rough my skin
was. So I created a whipped body butter that solved all my problems, that softened my
eczema patches, reduced the inflammation, and kept my body moisturized all day long. I
gave some out to family and friends, and they love it. My husband Lamar encouraged
me to share it with other people and we founded Shea Clouds. So now we’re bringing
these great smelling, benefit packed body butters to you.

Denisha and Lamar, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Denisha and Lamar are the founders of Shea Clouds, a company that makes whipped body butter designed to moisturize and nourish dry skin. Denisha was inspired to start
Shea Clouds after struggling with eczema and dry patches on her skin throughout her
life. She found that lotions would moisturize her skin at first, but then as the day wore
on, her skin would start to get dry again. She remembered being embarrassed at how
rough and dry her skin was, so she set out to make a body butter that would solve all of
this—and she succeeded! Her whipped body butter softened her eczema patches,
reduced inflammation, and kept her body moisturized all day long.
She gave some out to family and friends, who loved it. Her husband Lamar encouraged
her to share it with other people, who were also excited about the benefits of this
luxurious product.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

We manufacture our own product in our kitchen. We feel it gives that real authentic feel , by hand crafting our butters. We actually studied how to make the butters on youtube and books. We learned to be flexible and find solutions to things that don’t quite work out, to be more focused on solutions rather than the problem.

How’d you meet your business partner?

My wife and I met at a Walgreens in San Antonio. We both were full of ambition and eager to be successful, we did not know where life would take us but we knew we had each other and that is all we needed.
