We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Denise Mosley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Denise , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I’m in the business of creating and influencing people’s opinions about a person or thing and creating their brands so that specific audiences believe in who they are and what they have to offer: My focus is to create a presence for a persons brand and leverage that presence to create client, community and customer relationships. My mission is to give not only a presence to a person that will cause anyone to take notice but to also and most importantly usher them to a place of confidence that will lead them to success for years to come. I want to serve want to serve everyone from the janitor who wakes up one day and decides to start his own thing but doesn’t necessarily believe he has what it takes to get noticed to the Seasoned CEO who just needs fresh ideas to appeal to a different market.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Well if you read about me before- you probably read articles that focused on who I am as an author, writer, speaker and the release of my latest book, GET UP And Live- “It Happened But You Didn’t Die” of course it’s still available on Amazon and doing well.
But let me tell you about who I am overall and the not so new journey that I’ve finally given my yes to in order to fulfil what I believe to be the best years ahead of me…. I’m in the business of Public Relations. What is Public Relations in general? PR is that wonderful tool that many companies, organizations and people use to present themselves to the world in their best light… when people think of PR they may think of someone who does damage control when something goes wrong in words or actions… while that may be true I would like to think of the services I offer more along the lines of Image Management so that more often than not we won’t have to spend a whole lot of time doing damage control because I help you build who you are and what you do over time to look feel and sound a certain way….creating the person as the brand overall so that specific audiences believe in who they are and what they have to offer.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The ultimate goal and outlook for the rest of my professional and personal life is legacy building. My husband and I have been talking to our children over the years about the importance of our family not only supporting one another in who we are and what we do but ultimately linking and combining our professional lives together to benefit us all. So ultimately one of the things that I am focused on right now is building my company with my daughter so that she will have a strong company of her own to sustain her for the rest of her life. We happen to be working in the same industry of Broadcast Media… but on different sides of the spectrum… she is just getting started where I am heading out of the door soon in terms of what I do for the company that I work for so now is the perfect time to build and grow.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes. It is beginning to. It’s funny as we neared the ending of 2022 how out of the blue a flux of people just began to reach out to me with different questions and requests to help them with different things concerning media, branding, marketing or just how to’s for basic structuring for business. But as I spoke of earlier though the flood of people came out of the blue- I started talking to my daughter about going into Public Relations somewhere around her Sophomore and Junior year of college because I knew the field that she would be going to go to work in- although rewarding would be a low paying job. She realizes that now and is open to new and creative ways to increase her income.
