We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Denise Grant. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Denise below.
Alright, Denise thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
HACTAC Events is actually the acronym to my previous business name. I started off in business as the cake decorator and my company name was Here A Cake, There A Cake. It was a name my mother made for my business. When I decided to transition into floral decor and design, I wanted to keep the name some how and that is how I became HACTAC…

Denise, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Denise A. Grant is a self-taught visionary who transformed her passion for baking into a celebrated career as a Wedding and Event Decorator & Designer—and ultimately, an Experience Curator. At 42 years old, with 13 years of entrepreneurial success through Denise A. Grant LLC, she has redefined the art of celebration by blending creativity, meticulous planning, and a personal touch.

Her prestigious clientele includes cast members of Love & Hip Hop and Black Ink Crew, anchors from PIX11 Morning News, WBLS (where she produces the Circle of Sisters main stage and Instagram-worthy moments), Hot 97 (handling in-station events, Summer Jam announcements, and VIP experiences), Papoose, Food Network Wine & Food Festival & Black Girl Sunscreen.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the worst things that could we happen to an event decorator happened. Being robbed on my way to a job. A wedding at that!!! Funny enough, God turned it all around almost immediately and I was still able to fulfill for that client only being 30 minutes late. The resilience part is, in my mind I am a BIG business but how can I really be that if I don’t learn to handle and maneuver through ALL situations. I needed to be able to show that I’m ready for the next by being able to handle what’s comes to me now.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Our clients are our family and we treat them as such. Even after their events with us, they have milestones. We continue to celebrate them by congratulating them and letting them know they are still important to us. Holidays, we send cards and messages to them. We let them know we are always grateful they chose us to be apart of their celebrations.
