We were lucky to catch up with Denice Lee recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Denice , thanks for joining us today. Let’s go back in time to when you were an intern or apprentice – what’s an interesting story you can share from that stage of your career?
When I went into healing school, Lionheart Institute, I had no intention of becoming a mind body therapist. I went in for my own heaing. I just took the next step and said yes because it felt right.
While doing an energy healing meditation exercise with another student, I had a profound experience that shifted me. I somehow knew that becoming a healer was supposed to be my path. After that, I kept taking steps forward and never look back.
When I sit with my clients today, and I hold space for them and support them to heal, they are like reflections of myself in that, whatever they are going through, I have walked a similar path. Others have supported and guided me along the way, and I feel so blessed that I can do the same for another who is on the healing path.

Denice , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a mind body therapist, and I support people to heal from old traumas and woundings that get in the way of their deep souls’ longing.
I support motivated, high functioning women who struggle with relationships and feel depleted from overgiving, to have healthy, fulfilling relationships, create work life balance, and re-connect with their joy and creativity!
I also support highly sensitive Creatives, empaths and healers get unstuck and thrive.
The wounding and defensive patterns are in the body. Deep and lasting transformation happen when we learn to drop down into the body and clear old wounds. So I support to get embodied and drop down into their body.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
As hokey and Pollyana as this may sound, as healers, when sitting with clients, I have found that, more than any skill, method, what heals is love.
There have been quite a few times when a client is deeply stuck, and I feel stumped. Perhaps it’s a trauma that they still feel stuck in, whatever the case, in times like that, When I lean into love, and ask myself, “How can I sit and just be with them?” Miraculous shifts happen and it is humbling. I don’t hve to do anything but let love lead the way.
I find that people are needing to be deeply seen and heard.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Yes I would. Everything that I experienced has led me to this place of being able to sit and listen deeply to another soul who is trying to find their wholeness.
My own life long search for my own inner wholeness led me to this profession. I can honestly say that I have found my inner wholeness, and part of my own wholeness is now my ability to give back and support others to do the same.
