We were lucky to catch up with DeNeer Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi DeNeer, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?
A failure I have experienced was quitting my job with no plan. I spent all my money within three months my car was repossessed, I was served eviction papers all in the same year no money in the bank just trying to get by

DeNeer, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was a basketball player trying to go overseas and play. I didn’t really feel like my coaches believed in me in collage so after I graduated I worked really hard got a agent and was trying to do it myself. I ended up tearing my ACL and falling into depression. During rehab I sketched peace, love and happiness from a drawing I saw online, I posted it and one of my co workers at the time asked if I could sketch their children’s name and paint a picture. I didnt really know how to paint so I got on YouTube and figured out how to use spray paint and paint. From there I started studying and figuring out what I liked. It started out as a side Hustle but the more I learned the more it grew into a passion and therapy. It saved my life

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story i can share is being able to gain control over my mental health after a suicide attempt that almost took my life. I give thanks and gratitude everyday that I am alive for the person that saved my life I hate they witness it and truly ask for forgiveness. The ability to work on myself and my mental health everyday is resilience, sometimes we don’t know what’s going on with us until we reach our breaking point and we break. The ability to keep going and not get down on myself or judge myself for past mistakes is resilience. I am thankful

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson i had to learn was how to separate business and personal. People who know you personally don’t take your business seriously. Work doesn’t mean free thats volunteering.
