Deneen , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My love for candles is what brought La-Li Fields to life! I’ve always loved burning a good smelling candle and just basking in the aroma as it fills my home. One day I was talking to my daughter and said wouldn’t it be nice to have a candle that not only smells good but is made with natural waxes and looks good too. She lit up and was like mom that would be awesome! So I started the process of learning the different types of waxes and making your basic candles but I didn’t want to just make your average candle. I wanted to create candles that smelled amazing and were aesthetically pleasing to the eye. That’s when the thought to make dessert candles and decor candles came into light. Being able to actually craft and create the candles to look like desserts would give La-Li Fields a uniqueness in our approach to the the candle world!

Hello everyone I’m Deneen Witherspoon a wife, mom and small business owner of La-Li Fields. My love for candles is what lead me down this path to become a candle maker! At La-Li Fields we provide unique hand crafted dessert ,decor, aroma therapy candles and much more. Being able to work with my daughter and sister is such a blessing and makes the journey of crafting candles for our customers such a joy. The love, uniqueness and detail that is put into La-Li Fields candles sets us apart from just being your ordinary candle maker. We truly believe in elevating our customers vibes 365 by putting a smile on their faces when they get to experience one of our candles!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been attending vendor events and word of mouth. Being able to meet customers in person and allowing them to see our product first hand, really allows us the opportunity to get to know our clientele and provide them with amazing products and awesome customer service. In return we have been able to gain new clientele and returning clientele as well!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Before I started La-Li Fields, I was partnered in business with another company. I was very excited because this was actually my first time stepping out to run a business. There was a lot of preparation and finances that went into that business venture. Eventually me and my business partners decided to go our separate ways. I new that I still wanted to peruse my own business, so I decided to take some time to regroup and give it to God. I prayed on it and began to visualize what it was that I wanted to do. The next steps led me to starting my own business La-Li Fields!
