Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dena Romney. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dena, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
I started my business in March, and when I did, I had to decide what I wanted to do. I decided to go with virtual assistance, project management, and niche down as I grow my business. So I applied to two vacancies looking for virtual assistants, one directly through a company and one through an agency.
Unfortunately, the first interview I did was not successful, but a tremendous learning opportunity for my second interview. The second interview was very successful, and I quickly learned that I am more than a virtual assistant. I am an executive assistant.
The difference between the two is that VAs are task doers who will do what you tell them to do and nothing more. On the other hand, an EA is more independent and a right-hand person to their client. Besides doing assigned tasks, they will look at what needs to be done in your business and help you complete them by taking the initiative.
That’s how I got my first client; we’ve been working with each other for three months now, and I couldn’t wish for someone else to be my first.

Dena, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
How you got into your business?
I’ve been working in the online space for over a year and have learned about the do’s, don’ts, and what I enjoy. I have a background in hospitality, so naturally, I wanted to work in a field that would allow me to work directly with people, in this case, my clients’ clients. This led me to choose areas I enjoy the most, executive, project, and client management.
What type of products/services/creative works do you provide
Kralisade & Co is the leading management studio that provides all-in-one support for visionary leaders in 5-6 figure businesses who want to provide more value and impact without sacrificing their time. We offer management services such as executive assistant and fractional Chief Operating Officer packages.
What problems do you solve for your clients, or what do you think sets you apart from others?
After working with us for three months, we transition our clients from being in the day-to-day operations of their business. As a result, we help our clients enjoy their work with little to no distractions.
What are you most proud of?
We can help our clients find peace within the first week of working with each other. During our first week, we aim to remove one of their most significant pain points. An example of this can be cleaning their inbox, creating a new boundary with their team, and following up with old and current clients.
What are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/work/ etc.?
Our values:
Humanity: Prioritizing people over profit
Community: CReating it and giving back to it
Quality: maintaining high-quality work so that our clients have a high-quality experience
Loyalty: To the client, with the intention of them becoming loyal supporters in return

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Referrals and strong online positioning.
We genuinely enjoy working with our clients because without them, there’s no us. So looking back at our values in combination with a great client experience, our clients are always the first to tell someone that we’re their executive assistant/project manager.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
That it is okay to say no to a dream client.
We are always taught to say yes to dream clients who want to work with us but never when to say no because we’re booked out. Recently, I had to tell a dreamy client that, unfortunately, we cannot provide them with the quality service they deserve due to being booked out.
It was nerve-racking, a great learning experience, and delighted that we turned them down because now we can continue to provide our current clients with the best possible client experience.
