Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dena Holley-Stormer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Dena thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew I wanted to pursue a creative path when I was eight but it was the 80’s and I was told there was no money in it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’ve always been creative but it was just a hobby. After I lost my mother in 2012, I realized how short life really is. I quit my job and ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction of anything corporate and straight towards anything that made me happy.
That actually ended up being immature butt jokes.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Other people’s opinions of me are their own business.
I’ve always had a little bit of that in my DNA but losing a loved one puts EVERYTHING in perspective.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I’ve busted my ass the last few years on Instagram to have only 4k followers – hopped over to TikTok and have 23k followers there and it’s absolutely changed my business. It’s insane. I can honestly tell you that I have *no idea* how that happened but I’m trying to ride the wave as long as I can.
