Today, we’d like to introduce you to Demitri Haney. Demitri was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Ryn Pitts.

Demitri, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Although I have been a social worker in a professional capacity for the last nine years, I have been a caretaker amongst family and friends for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was given the nickname “the peacekeeper,” and I was educating my peers about healthy relationships in high school. Throughout college, I volunteered for ride-alongs with my local police department responding to domestic violence calls. I loved every second of this and thought I was destined to become a police officer. While this was not the path I took, it was obvious that I was meant to work in the social service industry.

I currently work full-time serving our nation’s service members and veterans. My work is extremely fulfilling, and this career made sense to me as I come from a military family and am now married to an Army veteran. I am excellent at my job, and my servant heart will always be at the core of who I am. Over the last few years though, I have been searching for change in my life.

I thought I was destined to follow in my mother’s footsteps and make a lifelong commitment to a career in health care. I had never considered entrepreneurship as an option for myself. I searched high and low for opportunities, mentors, and training in my other areas of interest, and I finally found something that fit like a glove – hospitality and short-term rentals. This was the perfect way to blend my gift of serving others, tapping into my creativity, and starting to build a life of financial freedom.

Please tell us more about your brand, Aequilibira Premium Rentals
I am the Founder and CEO of Aequilibria Premium Rentals, a luxury short-term rental company in San Antonio, TX. Whether our guests book with us for business or pleasure, our mission is to create spaces that infuse balance and tranquility into the guest experience. We have a stunning 2,800 sq. ft. 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom loft called The Ivy that is just minutes from The Pearl, River Walk, and the Frost Bank Center (home of the San Antonio Spurs). Our loft offers a 5-star hotel experience without the hotel, and we can accommodate up to eight guests for overnight stays. Our space is also available for rent on an hourly basis for events, photoshoots, and production. We love when our guests allow us to personalize their experiences with services provided by our amazing partners to include charcuterie, chef or meal services, event planners, photography/videography and more. We have also partnered with Devils River Whiskey Distillery here in San Antonio who helped us craft our signature cocktail called Devil’s Ivy. Our guests at The Ivy receive complimentary drink vouchers to try our cocktail at the distillery, and they also receive 10% off tours and tastings. Finally, our partnership with Smart Glass Country has been one of the most exciting things to share with our guests. Unlike anything else in San Antonio, our “smart film” allows our guests to enjoy the natural light our space offers while still maintaining privacy in our loft. With just the touch of a button, guests can switch our front door and windows from clear to frosted. We love being able to share this innovative and extraordinary product with our guests, and we’re so grateful to Smart Glass Country for trusting us to bring this to the San Antonio market.

She’s talented, beautiful, and wise beyond her years, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have her in my corner—not only as a business partner but as one of my closest friends.
