Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Demie Fultz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Demie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I think taking risks is a requirement to pursuing our really big dreams and goals. You may find yourself thinking that you can’t possibly achieve that really big goal of yours, but I think you can. I used to be someone who didn’t believe in myself. I saw other creators/influencers on social media and I thought to myself how amazing that would be. I read books, and I thought to myself how being a writer would be so cool. However, I never made the connection that I could be that also. So for me taking a risk, has been about diving into my greater mission to “Start Going Further”. I share freely on my social media channels and am writing my first Ebook. It’s all because I finally believe in myself. And I’ve realized that taking risks is a part of life, if you’re really going to live your purpose.

Demie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
When I think about what sets me apart and what “Start Going Further” means it comes down to authenticity. There’s a lot of highlight reels out there, and I desire to be the complete opposite of them. I want to be raw, real, genuine, and authentic. I think a lot of people in the world can relate to my content. I share about what I’m currently working through, working on, and processing. I share my highs and my lows, my growth, and my pain points. I ultimately want to inspire other people to Start Going Further, to pursue their dreams, and live their purpose. I was born to be a creator and a writer and my words are my art to share with the world. If you follow me you’ll get a little bit of everything, but the main theme is personal development, purpose, self-help, pursuing your passion, staying true to yourself, and being your best-self. I’ve lived much of my life not really liking myself or understanding who I was, so I hope I can help others find their greatness and inner peace.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I used to be so proud of my one goal in life. And the fact that I was on a straight path from point A to point B. I realized that these are the people that fall the hardest when life gets tough. Just because you want to do something, doesn’t mean that it will work out. You may find yourself dreaming new dreams, and realizing that dreams you once had no longer serve you. The straight path, does not even exist. The happiest, most successful people in this world have had a very winding, curvy, journey in life. Sometimes you have to let go a little, in order to find your true purpose. Be willing to evolve. You can always dream new dreams.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I still feel like I’m a bit behind with this. My social media following isn’t where I’d like it to be. But I’m remaining patient! Consistency is EVERYTHING. And, don’t overthink it. I think you must be genuine and create content truly from the heart. You never know the way your next reel, video, TikTok, post, may impact someone and turn into impacting SO many people. So keep putting content out there! You must be able to post when no one is reading, etc. Do it for you, for the younger version of you, and never lose sight of the greater impact you will have one day.
