Demi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Every two years I would create D.I.Y Christmas gifts for the family… The previous year I made sugar hand scrubs and needed some inspiration for Christmas 2021. So, I went on Amazon looking for ideas and came across candles. After making gift bags and candles for the family, I thought about if I could have my own business making candles (never saw myself having a business let alone being an entrepreneur). Then a couple of days later, I researched and started the process.
I felt different and satisfied after knowing that I have made something that looked professional and smelled good. After I received feedback, I knew that this was something I wanted to do.

Demi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Demetria but I go by Demi. As a wife and mother of two little kids, I unexpectedly found my way into the candle business. It all started during the Christmas season of 2020 when I was searching for do-it-yourself gift ideas. I wanted to create something special and personal for my loved ones, and that’s when I stumbled upon the art of making candles.
Intrigued by the process and the possibility of crafting my own unique gifts, I decided to give it a try. I began researching and learning about different candle-making techniques, ingredients, and scents. I quickly discovered the benefits of using soy wax, a natural and eco-friendly alternative to traditional paraffin wax.
As I delved deeper into the world of candle making, I realized that candles can do more than just provide illumination. They have the power to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, offering a moment of solace in our hectic lives. This revelation inspired me to focus on creating soy candles that not only smelled amazing but also helped promote a sense of calm and relaxation.
Alongside candles, wax melts, shower steamers, room/body sprays, and bath salts are a few other products that I currently make.
Also, people may know my business under Just Wright LLC, but I have embarked on a journey of growth and evolution, and as a result, I have decided to rebrand my business. Formerly known as Just Wright LLC, I am now proud to announce that the new name is: Lit Harmony!
This rebranding represents my commitment to providing my customers with even better products and services. I believe that Lit Harmony encapsulates the essence of what my purpose of striving to offer—a harmonious blend of quality, style, and passion.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been participating in pop-up shops and collaborating with hosts and fellow vendors. These opportunities have allowed me to showcase my products in person, giving potential customers a chance to see and experience the candles firsthand.
By participating in pop-up shops, I have been able to reach a wider audience and engage with customers directly. The face-to-face interactions have proven to be invaluable in building trust and establishing a personal connection with my clientele. I make sure to create an inviting display that showcases the beauty and quality of my candles, using visual elements that capture attention and reflect the peaceful atmosphere they create.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Unique Value Proposition is one. I have differentiated myself by emphasizing the calming and peaceful atmosphere that my candles help create. This unique value proposition has resonated with customers who are seeking a moment of tranquility in their lives. By offering a product that goes beyond mere fragrance and taps into the emotional benefits, I have established a distinctive position in the market.
The second would be Customer Satisfaction: I place a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and go the extra mile to ensure that my customers have a positive experience. This includes prompt and friendly communication, quick order processing, and secure packaging. By providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly, I have built a reputation for reliability and attentiveness.
