We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Delton Valentine. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Delton below.
Delton, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I think about legacy often especially within my family. I hope I’m remembered for my ability to make people feel seen and valued. Not everyone grew up with love or kindness in their lives and we need more of it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I work in TV/Film as a creative producer developing shorts, and other mediums with talent. I also have on set experience as a line producer on the Netflix show ‘Eastsiders’ Season 4. I enjoy working with clients from concept to shooting script and world building. Projects that attract my attention typically focus on the LGBT community or allies with a humanistic focus.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is the fulfillment I earn from reflecting humanity back to itself. Humans have the tendency to be selfish and our art provides the permission to grow. After cinema an audience member can take the themes and implement them day to day.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Hold yourself accountable to high standards and do it with others. Remember to do it with kindness.
