We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Delora Green a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Delora, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Hmmmmm This question is very interesting lol . I would say working dead end jobs was the motivation I needed to bet on myself by taking the risk and turning my hobby into a business. My passion for fashion is something I was born with ,It was something that made me feel ALIVE ,It was something I was blessed with from a early age of 6 designing became my go to to keep myself entertained as the youngest person in the house my siblings all started lives of their own. Many times all I had was my barbie dolls and mix matched socks to keep me company lol. So I would cut them up and create dresses out of them for my dolls and have fashion shows with them & this is something that NEVER left me so this is how I knew God blessed me with the skills to design! It was inevitable that I became the successful custom designer that I am today.

Delora, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started my brand with just $50, a mini hot glue gun, and a corner in my mom’s basement. It was humble, but it was a reflection of the creativity and passion I’ve had since I was a child. I was born with a gift for fashion design, and every piece I create is a testament to that. I didn’t attend design school, but my skills are driven by a natural instinct and an unwavering determination to turn raw ideas into wearable art.
My brand’s mission is to empower women to step into their confidence and embrace their individuality through custom, high-quality denim. I believe fashion is more than just clothing—it’s a tool for self-expression and a way to tell the world who you are without saying a word. For me, it’s about helping women feel like the main character in their own lives, commanding attention and attracting the opportunities they deserve.
The problem I aim to solve is simple but profound: so many women struggle with feeling confident in their own skin. My brand bridges that gap by creating unique denim pieces that not only fit perfectly but also make them feel powerful, sexy, and unstoppable. What sets my work apart is the personal touch—I design each piece with intention, ensuring it resonates with my client’s personality and style.
More than anything, I’m proud of how far this journey has come—from a corner in a basement to a brand that builds confidence and empowers women through fashion. My hope is that when people see my work, they see more than denim—they see possibility, creativity, and the courage to shine unapologetically.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Ahhhhh good ole Social Media !! Imma just start off by saying that Social media is what YOU make it out to be! I have been on social media since the days of Myspace and even back then I had a strong presence because I was authentically me what people must understand is that there is a audience for everything and everyone & you have to just decide what you want to be known for & how you want to be received. My advice for anyone looking to build a strong social media presence is this. STAY TRUE TO WHO YOU ARE!! Don’t get caught up in things that has nothing to do with your brand or your values! Stick to what works for YOU and don’t compare yourself to anyone. I built my presence by remaining authentic, consistent and engaging with people outside of my audience this is what helps you gain the visibility the more ACTIVE you are on social media the more VISIBLE you become. Focus MORE on what you need to do and LESS on likes, comments and going “viral” . Have fun let your creativity SHINE and those who rocking with it will come! Just have fun with it .

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me the Most rewarding thing about being a creative is sharing your art, passion, creativity with the WORLD!! I feel like the more you show the world something different it makes so much of an impact on the lives of others creatives! We all have this distinct language that only other creatives will understand and recognize. We are the ones being mad fun of, we are the ones being bullied, we are the ones that are labeled “Weird” and looked down upon so to be able to shake the fear of judgement, ridicule and shame we express those feelings through our ART! Fashion and Music nothing is more rewarding than showing how different you are in a world that wants us all to be puppets on a string!
