Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Delilah Harris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Delilah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I came up with the idea for my business through my desire to connect with my spirituality and to transform all of the traumatic experiences I had in the past into something I could gain strength from, rather than remain a victim.
My business is called Blessed Alchemy and it is the combination of those 2 things: Being blessed in my relationship with God and using Alchemy to transform my trauma, sorrow, heartache, and pain.
Delilah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have always been someone who could heal others because I had a keen ability to sense others emotions/pain. I wanted to keep my business as a way to bring healing and love to others and I focused on making products and services that really integrate well with my creativity. One of my favorite services I provide are healing paintings in which someone will send a photo of themselves or someone else they feel needs healing, and I will capture their aura in the painting I make for them, along with doing a Reiki treatment over them through the painting. I had one customer tell me that before I had given her the healing painting, she was in a wheelchair after being shot in the leg and that when I gave her the painting, she felt relief and she was able to stand for the first time in months.
I also make a lot of organic bath products that I integrate anointed oils and aromatherapy scents into that can have very healing properties and affects.
I work alongside my mom as co-owners of a Toxic Workplace Discrimination business as well. We have helped multiple clients get settlements from companies that were discriminating against them and teach a masterclass that goes over the basics of covert racism.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I was born, my dad was unhappy because he wanted me to be a boy and so my childhood was painted in several severe abusive situations that involved him. He would lock me in the cellar of our home as punishment and often punched me in the stomach and back. This treatment made me feel ugly and unlovable. It took me many many years and different treatments/therapy techniques to get to a place where I was able to separate my memories of this treatment and the lack of a loving relationship with my father from my identity and grow in self love so that I could guide others to their healing as well.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My Business partner and Co-Owner of our Workplace Discrimination Business is my mom. We decided to work together back when she first began writing our book “Hush Money” and became self-published authors, and from there our business has grown to us both being Public Speakers: Keynote & Motivational topics, consultants, and workshop/masterclass teachers.
I love working with her as she has been through a lot of abuse and pain as well, our history and life stories are very similar sadly, but we find strength in our bond.
