We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Delania Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Delania , appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.

Backstory of Sweet Fluffy Clouds

We all know I started the company doing Covid time. 2 years ago I step out on faith and brought a food trailer. In 2024 I open up my first storefront. In the process of opening the store. I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. April 22nd I open the store. May 23rd I found out I was cancer free. The road to recovering and starting a store was so hard. I kept the faith and still keeping the faith. It’s very challenging because cost of living is extremely expensive now in Louisiana. It’s getting harder and harder to keep a storefront open, by the grace of God I’m doing well.

I been in business since 2004. I started off as a catering company. I’m still a catering company but now I just focus on gourmet cotton candy, ice cream, rice Krisipies and fruit table displays.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

The lesson I learned with my business that sometimes you will have good and bad days. Not everyday you will have a customer but if you keep the faith God will overflow your cup.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

My journey with stomach cancer. I done had my good and bad days. After all said and done God has healed me and I’m cancer free! I can start back focusing more on my family & business.
